HP Microserver Gen10 benchmarks (X3216 vs X3421)

This post takes compares the performance between both the X3216 (dual core) model and the X3421 (quad core) HP Microserver models.

For these tests, phoronix test suite was used. You can find the individual test names in the chart title. In both the X3241 and X3216, the exact same RAM modules and disks were used.

UPDATE: Unfortunately the graphs in this article are no longer available due to issues with google drive. However the article will remain online for reference.

Afterword

As expected, in all tests the quad core X3241 outperforms the dual core X3216.  In some tests over twice the performance is observed, while in others the performance increase is more minor. For example for XZ decompression, the difference is under ~10%.
