Scaleaway vs DigitalOcean vs Vultr vs Hetzner benchmark (Revised) (October 2019)
A few months ago I benchmarked some of the cheapest cloud providers, from Hetzner Cloud, DigitalOcean, Vultr and Scaleaway. This month I have revised the benchmark with more consistent network locations.

Benchmark Results
The tool used for the benchmark is nench. All tests were performed in AMS region (with exception to Hetzner Cloud which was FSN).

Conclusion
There is no overall winner and the best will depend on your workload, budget and location, however both DigitalOcean and Vultr perform consistently well with networking tests, with Hetzner Cloud performing the worst in this area. CPU performance between the four providers seems to now be fairly balanced, in the past Hetzner Cloud offered a superior CPU & HDD performance but that no longer appears to be the case.
